America's Workforce
Solutions - An Affordable Workforce Investment Act System Solution
America's
Workforce System (AWS) evolved in response to the changing needs of
workforce service providers. AWS facilitates the One-Stop initiative
by providing a single solution for all service providers that allows
coordination of service delivery for the benefit of the customer. The
system allows partners to input or display a database of information
common to all programs, while also maintaining information that is unique
to their operations.
By design, AWS supports and enhances the relationship between service
seekers, service providers and employers. It also provides a mechanism
for collecting information that will allow service providers to target
their resources to generate desired results. AWS focuses not only on
how services are being performed, but also establishes a means for One-Stop
partners to keep current with each other's activities in meeting customers'
needs.
Labor Exchange
AWS offers a full spectrum of labor exchange tools needed to effectively
manage workforce development activities and meet the needs of employers,
job seekers and service providers. These tools support intake, assessment,
referral, placement, and reporting. Additionally, the system provides
case management capabilities for any service provider acting as a partner
in labor exchange activities. These capabilities include assessing customer
needs, scheduling services, tracking One-Stop participation, and reporting
activities to meet state and federal requirements.
AWS supports the collection and storage of O*NET-SOC and NAICS while
maintaining the ability to capture and store the DOT and SIC codes.
O*NET helps to identify and develop the skills of the American workforce.
NAICS information provides states with the necessary information to
view and shape their business activities.
