JobLink - Job Seeker Services
America's Job Link is a free job match and workplace
information service for employers and job seekers. job seekers can access
a variety of services that allow them to establish a self-service Internet
account to manage their job search.
job seekers can access a variety of services through JobLink:
- Utilize the Quick Search feature on
our Home Page to preview current job listings by geographic location
and job title keyword(s).
- Establish a self service account to
manager your job search efforts.
- Receive assistance from professional
staff in managing your job search, creating a resume, registering for
work, interviewing for a job, career exploration, job training, or labor
market information by contacting your nearest One-Stop or Workforce
Development Center.
Search for Jobs
Job seekers may search for jobs using on of six methods:
- Basic Search - allows you to select specific criteria for your job
search such as geographic area, job title keyword(s), salary, type of
job, education level , shift, etc.
- Search by Job Order Number - allows you to search by the job order
number, if you know the assigned number from a previous job search.
- Search by Employer - allows you to search by selecting the first letter
of the employer's name or by entering company name and city.
- Search By Type of Job - allows you to search by entering a job title
keyword(s) and select a job classification or access the Most Common
job classifications.
- Saved Job Search Profiles - allows you to search a basic search profile
that you have previously saved and named.
- Search by Resume Objective - allows you to search for jobs related
to a resume objective that you have entered if you created an On-Line
Kansas Job Link resume.
Create a Resume
Job seekers may create a complete resume on-line which can be
viewed by employers who have created an approved account and have approved
access to resume information.
job seekers may display their resume by three methods:
- Fully Display - allows the employer to view all resume information
and search based on job seeker's work history
- No Confidential Information - allows the employer to view the job seeker
resume without access to job seeker address, phone, or fax number. Contact
is made by email.
- Search Only - Never Display - allows job seeker to search for jobs
using their resume objective without employer access to their resume
information.
job seekers may create a job objective statement and enter a summary of
their qualifications. job seekers may enter their work history and determine
whether or not to include their work history as a job objective.
Contacting Employers
job seekers may enter their e-mail address under contact information,
check the e-mail job matches box under Want Jobs Emailed to You? in the
Resume section and have employers contact them directly, and have Kansasjoblink.com
e-mail them newly posted job openings daily that meet their designated
job classification(s).
Job seekers can e-mail their JobLink resume directly to the employer
by clicking on Contact Employer at the bottom of the employer job order,
A pre-designed Letter of Introduction will appear which can be completed
by the job seeker to accompany their resume.
Some employers have indicated a desire to have the local employment and
training center screen potential job seekers for referral to their job
openings. The term "third party contact" will appear in the
employer contact information and will require the job seeker to contact
the local employment and training center (Workforce Development Center)
prior to a referral to the job.
Other Services Available
Under the Main Menu on the Home Page:
- Eligibility - job seeker can determine eligibility for state funded
employment and training assistance.
- Civil Service - Provides job seeker access to information of jobs available
in the State Civil Service system.
- Labor Market/Career Information - Provides information on labor market
trends, occupational wage/salary information, real time labor market
information throughout Kansas.
- WARN Listings - Provides information on plant closings and mass layoffs
and employer responsibilities to notify employees of such actions.
- Workforce Service Providers - Provides information on possible job
training opportunities and supportive services available related to
employment and training.
