Consortium MembershipBenefits of being a member of AJLA
The AJLA consortium operates on the foundational belief that collaboration leads to better outcomes, with each new workforce agency contributing fresh perspectives that benefit all members. Through the AJLA Steering Committee, subscribers receive valuable professional development and networking opportunities and benefit from access to this nationwide network of peers for sharing workforce
development strategies and best practices. |
|
Meetings
The AJLA Steering Committee holds two in-person meetings annual and are accessible to both current and prospective members, offering an affordable way to connect with other workforce professionals and AJLA–TS staff. The Customer Success Team works closely with each state to understand their unique end-user needs, facilitating feedback from state leadership, American Job Center staff, job
seekers, employers, and training providers on system features and experiences. This feedback is then used by the product teams to guide application design. |
|
Communication
The consortium also facilitates innovation through collaboration, with regular opportunities for members to participate in conference calls with AJLA–TS staff to communicate their development priorities, questions, and information requests. Members receive support in curating their reported requests and reaching consensus on priorities.

Collaborative Development
The AJLA consortium enables members to collaboratively develop and implement workforce systems while sharing associated costs. Through the Steering Committee, each subscriber has an equal voice in ongoing product development, ensuring their specific needs are addressed. AJLA–TS actively engages with states through multiple channels. Regular meetings include monthly/bi-monthly individual state meetings to discuss priorities, bi-weekly sprint reviews for work showcase and feedback, quarterly design meetings for issue discussion and upcoming feature discussions, and bi-annual face-to-face Steering Committee meetings for networking, knowledge sharing, and product updates.
This collaborative and structured approach ensures that customized solutions are designed to meet specific workforce development needs while maintaining seamless integration and optimal performance across the system. The shared development model not only makes the solutions more cost-effective but also ensures that all members benefit from continuous improvements and innovations. |
|
Innovation
Innovations and solutions created for one state become accessible to all consortium members, making the development process more cost-effective, particularly when states receive the same grant funding. The Steering Committee members actively influence the product’s direction by offering input and feedback to the AJLA–TS development team.
