O*NET Services

The O*NET Services functionality within ReEmployKS enables you to search occupations by a variety of parameters. The information provided includes occupation searches, tools for career exploration, and job analysis powered by O*NET Online, a resource for job seekers, workforce development and HR professionals, students, researchers, and more.

Navigate to O*NET Services by clicking its title in the side menu. This opens a drop-down list that includes a variety of elements. Further information about each of these searches is listed below.

Occupations by Preparation

This search provides details about occupations, relative to how much education and job training is necessary for you to adequately prepare for the occupation. This is divided into five different job zones: Job Zone One requires little or no preparation, Job Zone Two requires some preparation, Job Zone Three requires medium preparation, Job Zone Four requires considerable preparation, and Job Zone Five requires extensive preparation.

  1. Click the Job Zone you would like to use as the basis for your job search.
  2. Enter a new ZIP code into the field at the top, if necessary, and click Change.

This search provides details about occupations, relative to their job family. (e.g., barbers, childcare workers, tour guides, and escorts all fall into the Personal Care and Service job family.)

  1. Click the STEM Occupations category you would like to use as the basis for your job search.

This search provides details about occupations projected to experience a significant increase in job openings over a 10-year time span (e.g., acupuncturists, biostatisticians, and surgical assistants all fall into the Rapid Growth projected outlook category). It also includes new and emerging occupations in high growth industries. Occupations are categorized as Rapid Growth, Numerous Job Openings, or New and Emerging.

  1. Click the Bright Outlook Occupation you would like to use as the basis for your job search.
  2. Enter a new ZIP code into the field at the top, if necessary, and click Change.
