TAA Petition Management

Approved staff can add and manage TAA Petition information.

View/Edit Petition Information

  1. From the left-hand navigation menu, navigate to Admin TasksServiceLink tab > TAA Petition Management tile. The TAA Petition Management page displays.
  2. Enter an Employer Name or Petition Number to search for an existing petition. You may enter a partial name or petition number. Click Search for Existing Petition to view the results.
  3. Click Edit in the Actions column for the desired employer. The Edit TAA Petition page displays.
  4. Edit the desired information. Click Submit Changes.

View/Add Employees to Petition

You can add Social Security numbers for employees eligible under a petition.

  1. From the left-hand navigation menu, navigate to Admin TasksServiceLink tab > TAA Petition Management tile. The TAA Petition Management page displays.
  2. Click Affected Employees in the Actions column for the desired employer. The TAA Petition Affected Employees page displays with a list of employees affected by the petition. To add affected employees, click Add Employees.
  3. In the Add Employees page, add up to 20 SSNs and click Submit. Repeat this process to add additional employees if needed.

Add New Petition

  1. From the left-hand navigation menu, navigate to Admin TasksServiceLink tab > TAA Petition Management tile. The TAA Petition Management page displays.
  2. Click Add. The Add TAA Petition page displays.
  3. Provide the following information:
    • Currently in Use? Option; Select Yes if the Petition has expired but someone comes in for services under that petition.
    • Filing Date: Date/Text; Enter the date that the Petition was filed.
    • Impact Date: Date/Text; Enter the date that the layoff/plant closing occurred.
    • Decision Date: Date/Text; Enter the date the Petition was decided by USDOL.
    • Expiration Date: Date/Text; Enter the date the Petition expired (2 years after Impact Date).
    • Status: Drop-Down; Select from Certified (USDOL approved), Denied (USDOL denied), Pending (USDOL has not decided), or Withdrawn (Petition has been withdrawn).
    • Employer NAICS: Text/Display; Enter the NAICS code of the layoff employer. Use the NAICS Lookup to identify code.
    • Employer State Employer Unemployment ID Number: Text; Enter the state tax ID number.
    • Employer Name: Text; Enter the name of layoff employer.
    • Address Line 1: Text; Enter the address of the layoff employer.
    • Address Line 2: Text; Enter any additional address information, such as building or suite number.
    • ZIP: Digits; Enter the five-digit ZIP code of the staff's primary work location. A drop-down will display confirming the ZIP matches the city and state entered. When you select the ZIP, the city and state is updated to match the ZIP information.
    • City: Text; Enter the city of the layoff employer.
    • State: Drop-Down; Select the state of the layoff employer. Defaults to the state of the system.
    • Country: Drop-Down; Select the country of location for the layoff employer. Defaults to the United States.
    • International State/Province/County: Text; Enter the name of the international location of the layoff employer.
    • Approved TAA Petition Number: Text; Enter the Petition Number assigned by USDOL.
    • Is this petition authorized for ATAA?: Drop-down; Select Yes to indicate ATAA has been authorized by USDOL or No if it has not.
  4. Click Submit Changes.
    • If the state has chosen to tie individual Social Security numbers to a petition, when an employer is selected in the drop-down on the Dislocated Worker Details page, the application will check the list of SSNs tied to the petition for a match to the job seeker SSN. If there is a match, eligibility is granted. If there is not a match, the job seeker is not eligible.
