Non-ServiceLink Services

The following information describes the design of Partner-Provided Services, InterAgency Referrals, and Co-Registrations. AJL provides flexibility for states to implement the functions according to their business practices and policies.

InterAgency Referrals

InterAgency Referrals are designed to document referrals to services and assistance not available from one-stop partners. AJL has functionality to allow states to set InterAgency Referrals so that a service, typically referral to Supportive Services, is auto-added to the client's Service and Training Plan as a staff-assisted service when an InterAgency Referral is added.

Partner-Provided Services

Partner-Provided Services are designed to document services provided to a client by a partner program that does not use ServiceLink for case management; that is, for those partners for whom a program registration and enrollment is either not available, or not active/implemented in ServiceLink in your state.

Co-Registrations

Co-Registrations are designed to document client registration in a partner program that does not use ServiceLink for case management; that is, for those partners for whom a program registration and enrollment is either not available, or not active/implemented in ServiceLink in your state.

Partner-Provided Services and Co-Registrations are distinguished from InterAgency Referrals in two ways:

  • InterAgency Referrals are referrals to agencies or organizations, typically for supportive services, who are NOT one-stop partners, for services and assistance not available from one-stop partners. Partner-Provided Services are services provided by agencies or organizations who ARE one-stop partners.
  • Partner-Provided Services and Co-Registrations are typically for a longer time frame than InterAgency Referrals.

Partner-Provided Services, InterAgency Referrals, and Co-Registrations are all designed to document the client's participation in the workforce system. All extend the client's participation period. Updating the status to Completed and accurately entering the actual ending date is critical for managing the client's participation.

Do NOT enter a Partner-Provided Service or Co-Registration for a program that DOES use AJL as their primary system. For example, if WIOA, TAA, and LE all use AJL, do not add a co-registration for any of those programs.
