Forgot Username and Password Support
Forgot Username
As a staff member, if you forget your username, ask a colleague to look up your username in the User Search. The Forgot Username functionality is only available to job seekers, employers, and training providers.
Forgot Password
An active or pending Job Seeker, employer, provider, or staff member can select the Forgot Password link in the Log In form on the AJL splash page to reset their password.
Passwords must meet minimum strength requirements, as indicated by the color of the password strength meter and "Strong Password" confirmation. Passwords can be between 8 and 128 characters. They cannot contain the username or nine-digit numbers (e.g., SSNs) to promote account security. To view the password you have entered, select Show.
The Forgot Password functionality will follow one of four paths, depending on information provided in the account and on state settings.
- Select the Forgot Password link on the AJL splash page in the Log In form. The Forgot Password page displays.
- Enter your username and select Submit.
- Reset your password with one of the following four options.
Email Confirmation
- If you have a confirmed email, you can select Email.
- Click Submit. The AJL splash page displays with a confirmation: "Email has been sent to <partially masked email address>."
- Open the email and click the Reset Password link. The Reset Password page displays.
- Enter and confirm your new password.

- If you can reset your password by text, you can select Text Message.
- Select Submit . A notification message displays: "A text message with a reset code has been sent to <partially masked phone number>."
- You will receive a reset code via text.
- If you navigate away from the Password Reset pages, you can return to the AJL home page and select the Use Reset Code link in the Log In form to directly enter your reset code.
- After entering the reset code, the Reset Password page displays.
- Enter and confirm your new password.
Security Questions
If you do not have a confirmed email and cannot receive text messages, you can reset your password by answering the security question.

If you do not have a confirmed email address, cannot receive text message notification, and do not know the answer to your security question, you can reset your password by requesting a password reset code from AJC staff who have the password reset privilege.
- From the AJL splash page in the Log In form, select the Use Reset Code link.

My Profile
You can manage your account information by selecting the My Profile link in the top navigation menu. All staff users must keep their account information updated. Although the information will likely seldom change, when changes do occur, the account needs to be updated immediately.
Account Information
In the Account Information card, you can update the following information: name, job location and title, username, password, and security question/answer.
Edit Password
AJL has settings to periodically expire passwords and require users to change their passwords before access to ServiceLink is granted. AJL also allows users to change their password at their discretion by selecting Change Password in Account Information. Users should immediately change their passwords if they feel that the security of their password has been compromised in any way.
Edit Security Question/Answer
To change your security question and/or answer, in Account Information select Change next to Security Question and Answer. Security answers must be greater than one character.
Edit Address Book
On the Address Book card, select Edit. The Address Book page displays with options to add, edit, or delete address, phone number, fax, email, and website.
- The Address Book feature is now consistent across all user types. In general, staff should not need to update any Address Book information.
Confirm/Revoke Email
If the email address entered has not yet been confirmed (see Staff Account Creation), an "Unconfirmed" message displays, with a button to Resend Confirmation Instructions. If you click Resend Confirmation Instructions, a confirmation email will be sent to the email address listed.
If you or the user need to enter a new email address or no longer have access to a confirmed email address, select the Revoke Confirmation button to unconfirm the current email.
